Rani Lakshmi – The Queen of Jhansi

Rani Lakshmibai (19 November 1828-18 June 1858) famously known as ‘Jhansi ki Rani’ was the Queen of the Maratha ruled princely state of Jhansi in North India (currently present in Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh, India) and a leader of the Indian Mutiny of 1857-58. Originally named as Manikarnika she was born to a Maharashtrian Brahmin family.

This year it was different with the Covid-19 causing the cancellation of most events except for virtual events.

Small pockets of parents tried to get any available mature adult with empathy to teach children to the best of their ability and educate the locals if they are willing. In some localities it worked without any fanfare and able to meet the needs of children. Other wise the parents themselves in each family take this task in their schedule. In a way it is satisfying for the parents involved.
