Fitness club reopens in La Costa

The 24 Hour Fitness La Costa club has reopened and will offer a hybrid experience combining group fitness classes, world-class equipment, one-on-one in-person training, and a variety of virtual fitness options. The two-story, 40,000-square-foot club features amenities including GX24 and cycle studios; Zumba, BodyPump, and POP Pilates workouts; and rows of cardio and strength machines, plus free weights for every fitness level. Grants available to help employment

Grant funding is available from the Escondido Community Foundation to support organizations that provide workforce development resources needed for economic growth in Escondido. In the 2022-23 grant cycle, the foundation, an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, invites local organizations to submit a letter of intent specifically for projects in Escondido. The foundation is committed to programs that provide resources for job readiness, job shadowing, internships, vocational education, advancement opportunities and technology instruction. These projects should be achievable within a 12-month time frame, and have prospects for long-term sustainability. San Diego County Credit Union and the San Diego County Library System are hosting Financial Wellness Wednesdays presentations on a variety of topics aimed at improving financial health. Everyone is encouraged to attend the virtual webinars. SDCCU offers nearly two dozen different Financial Wellness Wednesdays webinars, including 6 Steps to Create a Personal Budget, Understanding Your Spending & Financial Behaviors, Simple Ways to Slash Spending, Teaching Your Teen About Money, The Keys to Homeownership, Dealing With a Furlough or Layoff, Current Scams and How to Protect Your Finances, Millennial’s Guide to Savings, Elder Financial Abuse Prevention and SDCCU’s Biz Kid$ to help teach kids about money and business. Regional Connect networking event set

The North San Diego Business Chamber hosts its first Regional Connect networking event of the year at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the outdoor patio of The Grille at Maderas Golf Club, 17750 Old Coach Road in Poway. Members admitted free with preregistration, otherwise cost is $10 on event day. Guest admission is $35. Attendance limited to the first 120 registrations. Tax credit program opens applications

The California Competes Tax Credit is an income-tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California. Businesses of any industry, size or location can apply for more than $180 million in tax credits during one of several application periods each year. For fiscal year 2021-2022, GO-Biz will accept applications now through Jan. 24 and from March 7-28. Before each application period, GO-Biz hosts online webinars about the program. Chamber combines mixer, wellness expo

The Poway Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to a Health & Wellness Expo starting at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Poway Unified School District office, 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego. This event combines the monthly mixer with the health expo so guests can meet local providers, learn helpful tips, win prizes and more. Health & Wellness providers interested in a vendor space can sign up through the registration link. Chamber members can exhibit for $25, non-members for $75 (if you join the chamber afterward, $50 will go toward your application fee.) One table will be provided per exhibitor.
