A 61-year-old man who was assaulted outside a bar in Spring Valley on Tuesday was sentenced to death, according to sheriff officials.
Raymond Belmudes Jr. was sentenced to death on Friday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. A close relative of Belmudes was informed of his death. The autopsy department was scheduled for an autopsy on Sunday.
Belmdes’ nephew Ronald Francis Valdes was released on bail at a lower rate. The murder investigator amends the criminal accusation while continuing the investigation.
The detective determined that Belmudes was not in the Shooters Cocktail prior to the incident. Valdez is said to have entered Shooter’s Cocktails at 10761 Jamacha Blvd.
However, he was denied service and left, sheriff officials said. The assault occurred in the parking lot.
Around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, a sheriff’s agent answered the radio call for the battle at the bar. When they arrived, they found Belmudes suffering from a head injury in the parking lot in front of the bar.
Firefighters responded and took Belmudes to a local hospital. The sheriff’s murder unit responded and took responsibility for the investigation.
According to the sheriff, the detective learned that Valdes had left the bar and continued discussions, causing Valdes to attack Belmudes, causing a life-threatening situation for him.
Valdes fled the scene before the legislators arrived.
The San Diego Area Fugitive Task Force found Valdes and arrested him near his residence on suspicion of a battery with serious physical injury.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the murder unit at 858-285-6330 or after business hours at 858-565-5200. Alternatively, you will be asked to call the crime stopper at 888-580-8477.
