Authorities identify Vista man killed in San Marcos double shooting – The San Diego Union-Tribune

Authorities on Friday publicly identified a 40-year-old man killed this week in a shooting in San Marcos that left another victim in critical condition.

Deputies responding to reports of gunfire around 7 p.m. Wednesday found Vista resident Ivan Rivera and another man shot on La Rosa Drive off South Rancho Santa Fe Road, according to sheriff’s officials.

Rivera was shot multiple times and died at the scene, sheriff’s homicide Lt. Thomas Seiver said. Paramedics took the second victim, whose name was not released, to a hospital in critical condition. He remained hospitalized Friday.

Seiver did not say whether any suspects in the case have been identified or if investigators know the motive for the shooting.
